The Ronald Schlegel Family created the charitable RBJ Schlegel Family Foundation in November 2022. The success of the RBJ Schlegel family businesses has enabled the Foundation to make meaningful contributions to charitable organizations where the Schlegel family believes they can make a difference. The Foundation’s values are consistent with the family business values including being creative and innovative.
The primary funding emphasis of the newly created Foundation is research in aging, research in mental health/addiction and International Economic Development.
It’s secondary funding emphasis is focused toward supporting the regions of Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph and London, Ontario in areas of health care, social services and community housing and development as well as support of Mennonite institutions.
The vast majority of annual funding is directed to the primary focus with lesser amounts available for the secondary funding area.
Consideration will be given to organizations operating in the Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph and London areas of Ontario, Canada who have registered CRA charitable status (via a charitable status number issued in the name of their organization) and submit a Request for Funding application. The Foundation’s Board of Directors meet quarterly to review Request for Funding applications. Request for Funding applications may be obtained by first providing a brief description of your organization’s vision and goals as well as funding expectations to David Raines, Executive Director, at draines@rbjschlegel.com.
